"To the prospective home buyer:
The
biggest obstacle I faced as a first-time home buyer was choosing
a real estate agent. I knew I wanted a house, I knew I could afford
it, and I knew it was the right time, but how would I find an agent
that wouldn't try to talk me into buying a home that a colleague
needed to unload? The prospect was like buying a car, only 10 times
the price, and potentially, 10 times the strees. I read about the
Buyer's Agent of Ann Arbor and attended two home-buying seminars--I
made my decision to use their services about halfway through the
first seminar. I realized they weren't going to sell me anything
- that was the key - they were going to help me buy a house.
And they were going to help me find the right house for my needs,
not theirs.
I
highly recommend the services of the Buyer's Agent--Tim Janssen
in particular, though everyone in the Ann Arbor office was very
helpful. Tim was open and friendly and understood my concerns at
our first meeting. He immediately provided e-mail listings that
suited my preferences and directed me to a local lender that I could
trust. With my work schedule, I did not have the time or patience
to wade through unnecessary details. As we looked at various homes,
Tim worked with my schedule, was always dependable, and always provided
his honest opinion. He never showed me homes that were out of my
price range or tried to "sell" me on a property that didn't
suit my needs. After the inspection, he followed through on more
particulars than I can remember, and went above and beyond my expectations
at every turn. The entire process - from my initial consltation
with Tim to the closing - was about as stress-free as a home purchase
can be. There is true value in choosing a real estate agent who
is on the buyer's side, and I highly recommend Tim Janssen's services."

"I
want to thank the Buyer's Agent for all the great work that was
done on our behalf. There was no comparison between the Buyer's
Agent and our previous experience with a seller's realtor. After
showing us several houses, our seller's realtor pressured us to
start making offers. We ended up finding our house on our own, during
a period where she wasn't returning our phone calls. She then gave
us incorrect information about obtaining a mortgage, steering us
to a company with a noncompetitive rate with the explanation that
we could only qualify for that company.
Being gun shy from my previous house buying experience made me want
only the very best. Over time I realized what a great agent Ralph
is. He thoroughly inspected every prospective house, even with our
two young children running about. Ralph would conduct the inspection,
educate me, and interact with our kids at the same time! He had
a great rapport with our entire family. He never showed any disappointment
when we rejected a prospective house, instead emphasizing the importance
of finding the house that was best for us. Kim and I were going
from starter house to "dream" house, and we had very different
criteria. We looked at many houses over a 4 month period, making
4 offers on two other houses. Through it all, Ralph operated in
a highly professional manner. In addition, he got us a great mortgage
rate from the Money Source.
Jon Boyd was also a tremendous help. He stayed informed of our progress
and co-inspected several houses. When Ralph was unavailable, Jon
always quickly responded to our calls and helped in many ways. He
played a crucial role in negotiating the purchase agreements and
the special assessment costs at the closing.
Overall, I can't say enough of the fabulous treatment the Buyer's
Agent has given us. It is rare these days to get great service,
and it usually come at a high price. The buyer's agent not only
saved us thousands, they provided great service. I only wish more
people knew of you."
